How Can Choosing The Right Drinks Help You To Lose Weight?

Clean Drinking.png

Drinking enough or even the right things can be far more challenging than you would initially think, especially when mid-afternoon slumps seem to be calling for a sugary can of soda! But can changing what and how much you drink really shed inches off your waistline?

Well that all depends how many inches you wish to get rid of, but in theory removing certain drinks and adding others will help you to lose weight….

And before we all begin, please know that this post contains affiliate links, which means that if you click on one of the product links, I’ll receive some money… but then a girl’s got to eat and I genuinely believe in the products that I have linked to! Plus here is more information on everything I disclaim!

Now that that’s out of the way…..

!Water! Water! Water!

Yes you knew that this would be the first drink on the list… The European Food Safety Authority, suggests that the average man should drink 2.5 litres of water per day and the average women should drink 2 litres of water per day. Now this is quite a substantial amount of water when drunk in its purest form as straight-up water and might have you running to the toilet rather too regularly for your boss’s liking so do try to remember around 20-30% of your water does come from your food and there is water in all of my next suggestions, so they count towards your litre target too!

Want to add an extra Weight loss boost to your water?

Infused Weight Loss Water!

Take a re-usable (preferably BPA free) 500ml to 800 ml bottle and add half a sliced lemon, about 2.5 inches of sliced cucumber and about 1 inch of sliced ginger. Top up with water and leave in the fridge to infuse over night. Sip throughout the following day and feel free to top up with water again. If its not too hot you should be able to refill the bottle with water, without changing the fresh ingredients, twice or more. You’ll know if they are off!

If you get really into infused waters, here’s a great bottle that I bought in a rather smart shade of carbon: Hydracy Fruit Infuser Water Bottle That way you don’t have to delicately spit out the lemon pips! I will be doing a variety of infused water recipes over the coming weeks too, so look out for those!

Time For Tea!

So anyone that knows me well, is pretty aware that I am a tea fiend!! I have a nice earthenware jug that I just keep filling up throughout the day. I do have an extensive list of favourite teas, which I will also be sharing with you at a later date but if you are looking to lose weight a good green or white tea is best. Please bear in mind that the quality is important.

Green tea, which includes Matcha powder, is a fat burner, it is also superb for your skin, cholesterol. blood sugars, brain function and immune system to name a few. Most importantly for this article, it speeds up your metabolism! White tea is an even faster fat burner and actually many people find it easier to drink!

If Green Tea is making your stomach feel horrible it is more than likely that you are not drinking a good enough quality tea but in the end some people just do not get on with Green Tea, nothing is for everyone!

Here are my top three white and green teas:

Pukka Organic Supreme Matcha Green Tea Bags

Dragonfly Tea Swirling Mist Organic White Tea

Premium Grade Matcha Green Tea,

When you make your brew try to pour the water into your vessel of choice before the kettle reaches boiling point or let the water cool before pouring onto the tea bag, too hot of water will burn the tea. 70’C to 80’C is the perfect tea temperature and do allow it some time to seep! This is normally stated on the box.

Apple Cider Vinegar…

Now this one might seem like a wild card, perhaps less these days as every health blog is touting it and there is a reason for that! Apple Cider Vinegar is an amazing liquid, truly and undoubtedly amazing! From reducing acne to curing sore throats, from boosting energy to losing weight, Apple Cider Vinegar does it all!

My advice to help you lose weight with Apple Cider Vinegar is to pour enough Apple Cider Vinegar to cover the bottom of your tea cup, add a slice of lemon and hot water and sip slowly first thing in the morning. Just be careful how much you add, otherwise you will feel it hit the back  of your throat! If you are having a bit of a soar throat at anytime, proceed with the previous recipe, adding some sliced ginger and a teaspoon of honey as well! Oh and here is a link to buy some Bragg Unfiltered Apple Cider Vinegar again quality does matter so try to buy the purest that you can! Some also come with The Mother! This is a good thing, don’t ask me why or how!

So… to conclude!

Here are three great drinks to consume throughout the day to boost your Weightloss program! First and foremost make sure you are getting enough water, your body really does need it!

Happy Drinking 🙂
